I've always been so curious about homeschooling, and after entering the blogging world I found it to be much more popular than I'd imagined!I found this great series that I'd like to begin sharing with you, written by Dawn from Slop Swap.
"I have wanted to write a homeschooling post for a while now and didn’t know where to begin. There are so many topics that I could cover. As soon as people find out I homeschool, I get a lot of different questions. Some are supportive and some are not.
To back up a bit, if you’ve read my About Me page, you know that I’m a homeschooling, stay-at-home-mother of 4. My oldest is 12 and will be going into the 7th grade and we’ve homeschooled all of them from the beginning.
I’m going to be writing several posts over the next few weeks diving into some of those questions and just how I answer them. Hopefully, for those thinking of homeschooling, it will answer some questions you may have. And hopefully, it might also help dispel some of the myths of homeschooling too.
As a disclaimer, don’t judge my writing and think that I am not qualified to teach. I like to write the way I speak and don’t like to lose ‘me’ by making it perfect.
The first Question For a Homeschooling Mom:
Aren’t you worried about socialization?
Answer: No.
Three out of my four kids are very social. Some of the most social kids you will ever meet. Faith is social too when you get to know her but she’s had her own challenges in her short little life. She was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 4 and has had to spend a lot of time in the hospital. If any of us had been through what that little girl has had to endure, we probably wouldn’t be all that social either. But that’s a different post.
Honestly, there are so many opportunities for homeschoolers to get together. The best part is that it is on your own terms. You set the schedule and do as much or as little as you want. We belong to a homeschool group that gets together once a month. The kids have an activity in the morning and then learning activities in the afternoon. The moms then get time in the afternoons to learn as well. They also have a middle school night once a month for even more socialization. My son absolutely LOVES that." Read more!

Visiting from ASlexa Hop..I will enjoy tehse posts. Although I will put my son in school for Kindergarten, i will keep him home for Pre-school. A lot of money and I can homeschool my smarty pants through that. He also does Daycare so socializing is a non-issue and I have him in YMCA classes also.
