My husband and I went to a retirement party last weekend and lining the driveway were these beautiful round ice candle holders. I absolutely loved them and had to attempt to make them myself!

What is the Right Hairstyle for My Face?
This is a guest post by Anu of Beauty Secrets Revealed. Choosing a perfect hairstyle depends on a several factors such as the length, texture, density of your hair and your face shape.
How to determine your face shape?
Stand straight and still in front of the mirror. Draw the outline around the reflection of your face, with a lipstick or a marker. Step away a bit and see if the shape looks oval, square, triangle, diamond, round or heart to you. It is very much possible that you do not perfectly fit into any one shape category. Your face might be a combination of square on top and round at the jaws, or some other combination. Just try to fit it in a closest category possible.
Basically all you need to do is select a hairstyle to emphasis good features on your face and shift the focus away from not-so-good features.

"I haven’t seen Tuscan Garlic Chicken on the menu at Olive Garden for a very long time. I think it may have only been on the menu for a short while but it was so good!

IN THIRTY MINUTES OR LESS
Posted by Heriberto Fuentes
I love to watch Rachel Ray on Direct Star TV in the mornings. When I first starting hearing about her, her voice drove me up the wall. She has a very loud and strong presence in a room. When I started to watch her show a couple of times, I realized that I actually really liked her. She is very down to earth and is exactly the kind of cook that I like to be. My favorite thing that she does on her show is introduce a meal that can be cooked in thirty minutes or less at the very end of the show. Being a Mom and really strapped for time, these recipes come in handy. They are not very difficult, don’t require a lot of prep, and don’t require a bunch of expensive ingredients. Usually I can make everything from whatever I have in my cabinets and pantry. My kids and husband always love everything that I fix from Rachel’s show and website. The coolest thing about her website is that it will actually print off a shopping list with the recipes that you collect, very cool!

Questions For a Homeschooling Mom Vol. 1

I found this great series that I'd like to begin sharing with you, written by Dawn from Slop Swap.
"I have wanted to write a homeschooling post for a while now and didn’t know where to begin. There are so many topics that I could cover. As soon as people find out I homeschool, I get a lot of different questions. Some are supportive and some are not.

At Home All Day
Thanks to Jonathon Woods
Being at home all day has really not been good for my relationship. I spend a lot of time watching movies on my Direct TV and reading self help books and by the time my husband gets home at night I’m really ready to argue about something just to have some adult interaction? I wish it wasn’t that way but I just have a really hard time balancing my needs and my wants with what’s going on here – I would love to find some kind of part time work that I could get out of the house for or even something I could do from home. There’s something to be said for having something to engage you during the day and I just don’t have that. I can only imagine what it would be like to be in an office environment again but it is nice being with the kids all day and knowing what’s going on in their lives. I think there’s something else missing in my relationship if I had to guess.

A Partner in Crime
For a long while now, I've known that this is a direction I would head. I would like to bring on two partners.
Here is what I am looking for:
1. Review writer- I would like to bring a review writer onto the team. The ideal candidate is likely a mom, and will be able to regularly receive new products, and post reviews to Cute-Ecakes. Link backs will be acceptable.
2. A Partner in Crime- I would like to partner with a blog similar to mine in topic, (Mommy, Blogger, Social Media, Reviews and Giveaways) I am looking for a like-minded blogger, aiming to move our blogs to the next level through strategic planning in this partnership.

We went to www.expertsatellite.com and upgraded our television package so that we could watch our favorite band in a live concert. HDNET is a channel that you can get that broadcasts live concerts. Our favorite band, Widespread Panic, was playing a concert at a small venue for about five hundred people in their hometown. We were luckily enough to get tickets, but live in Salt Lake City and were not going to be able to make it all the way back to Athens, Georgia for the concert. We ended up giving our tickets to my husband’s brother and a friend. They had a blast. We were glad that we got to watch the concert on television. Even though we weren’t there, and were missing a concert of a lifetime, we felt like we were. We even saw some of our friends in the crowd on TV. It was the next best thing to being there in person. We will definitely be watching more concerts live on HDNET that we are not going to be able to attend in person. It was a great solution to being geographically challenged for the concert.

Book Apps and Print Books: Arguments in favor of both
A guest post written by www.curatingbookappmom.com
I find this ongoing discussion of kids' print vs. book apps is getting old (and tiring). I'm all in favor of print books for children -we have tons of them at home- and I also love the possibilities of this new option: book apps.

Healthy Families make Healthy Hearts

It has been suggested by many medical experts that young children need a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity a day to stay healthy. An unsettling amount of children, however, are not as physically active as they should be as seen in the following statistics:
• The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry states that between 16 and 33% of all children are considered obese.
• The Trust for America’s Health released figures that in 30 states 30% of the children are obese.
Physical inactivity, combined with poor eating habits, has contributed to these alarming figures.

Rennovation
Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes
I recently heard through the grapevine that the stock market is going to continue to fall and the economy is still on the way down. This news only reaffirms my thoughts about stopping renovation on my house. The only bad thing about stopping our renovation projects is that my wife will be really upset because I know she wants to continue updating the living room and the master bedroom but I just have so many reservations about spending more money while there is so much uncertainty regarding the economy. However, maybe getting a new security system installed in the house would be a good compromise since my buddy showed me Security choice online and explained how affordable a home security system could be. Now I feel like we will be a lot safer and my wife will feel like we are still making necessary upgrades to our house. The only thing I have to worry about now is trying to get all this trash out of our house that the construction workers have left.

Perfecting my studying skills while I can
Guest post written by Maria Herman
One of the things that I was so worried about once I went away to college wasn't making friends. Several of my friends from high school are attending the same college. But the thing that I was most worried about was actually balancing my studies with my social life. I have a pretty tight knit group and have been struggling a little bit to let them knwo that I actually do need to study. I mean, we're in college to get degrees!
I've been looking up all kinds of tips for how to study with my Clearwire wimax 4G in my apartment. I was an honors student in high school and enjoyed not having to study and spent my time on other pursuits like sports and my boyfriend.
I have picked up a few tips along the way. One main one is finding a quiet place to study that's separate from my social life. So I've been going to the library to study instead of staying in my dorm room and think that it's really helping out!
